Class Sessions There are twelve class sessions – one for each week of the semester. Some are longer than others. and have more Activities to complete. Don’t leave all twelve until the last week. Aside from the stress of finishing them at the last minute, you won’t benefit from the research and networking that goes into a successful job search. What is a successful job search? One that results in an outcome that satisfies you! Before you begin the Class Sessions, be sure you have read about the Portfolio from the menu at the left. You will be asked to store assignments from the Class Session Activities there. All of the Class Sessions REQUIRE that you read a chapter from the textbook first. Please do it - that replaces some of our classroom lecture. The exercises in the book are optional; most of them are replaced by our class Activities with two exceptions which are noted in the Class Sessions. You are, of course, free to do all the textbook exercises you wish! Many of our Class Activities will use the resources of the Career Center website as well as other web resources. You will discover which ones are most helpful to you and want to keep track of them in your Job Search Plan - Resources. Included in the Portfolio is your Job Search Plan, a dynamic document you will develop and change as the semester progresses. Work on the Job Search Plan using the format I suggest but feel free to add other information that helps you plan. Please do the Class Sessions in order – they make better sense that way!
