Job Search Strategies for Liberal Arts Students Hiram College Hiram, OH Purpose of course The purpose of this course is to help you identify your career interests, assess your skills, locate employers interested in liberal arts graduates, and prepare to market yourself effectively - the usual stuff! In addition, this course will help you become familiar with online job search resources and teach you to use them effectively. Why online? This section of Job Search Strategies for Liberal Arts Students, Student Development 611.02, is taught as an online tutorial for those students whose schedules make it impossible to attend the regularly scheduled meetings of the class, for students who wish to take the course during the Three Week session or in the summer when it is not taught on campus, or for seniors studying abroad who wish to work on their job search from Cambridge or Zimbabwe, or Costa Rica. (Modifications to some assignments will be made for students studying abroad.) How to register: Register for this class in the usual way by contacting the Registrar and adding it to your course schedule as STDV 611.02. If you wish to take the course during the Three Week session, while studying overseas, or during the summer, you must contact the Registrar directly at 330-569-5210 or by email at painleyma@hiram.edu. Please note that you should be registered for other courses during the term when you take this course. Hiram College policies regarding drop-add, grading, incompletes, withdrawal from the class, and academic honesty all apply. See the College Catalog or contact the Registrar if you have questions.
