| The Department of Music is housed in the well-equipped Frohring Music Hall. The two-story brick building contains a large, air-conditioned rehearsal/recital hall, two large classrooms and a seminar room, seven teaching studios, eight practice rooms and faculty offices. |

| The newly upgraded Music Technology Lab contains nine workstations that are networked to the college, the Internet and the laser printer. The lab is used for classes in music technology, music theory, orchestration, conducting, instrumental methods and class piano. |
| The workstations are equipped with high-end Dell towers with CD/DVD combo drivers and burners, Dell flat panel monitors and Alesis digital keyboards. The software includes Windows XP Professional, Finale 2006 (music writing, composing and arranging), Steinberg Wave Lab Suite (digital music editing), Pyware 3d Java Interactive (marching band charting), Musition (music theory), Auralia (ear training) and Band In A Box (multi-level composing and arranging. |
| The Department of Music has a number of fine Steinway grand pianos located in Frohring Music Hall and throughout the campus. A nine-foot Steinway concert grand graces the stage of Hayden Auditorium, where many concerts are given. Six new pianos have recently been purchased to update practice rooms, classrooms, the piano teaching studio and Frohring Recital Hall. Additional performance areas include the Kennedy Center Ballroom, Drury Hall and the Hiram Christian Church. |
| The Department of Music maintains a large inventory of string, woodwind, brass and percussion instruments for student use. A Dowd two-manual harpsichord and a Holtkamp two-manual organ are housed in Frohring Music Hall and a three manual Schantz organ is located in Hayden Auditorium. An extensive collection of musical scores, recordings, books and periodicals is housed in the Hiram Library Media Center. |
