Madrigal Singers - John Drotleff, Conductor

The Madrigal Singers are a select group of sixteen voices that specialize in vocal chamber music. Members of the Madrigal Singers are chosen by audition during the first week of the fall term. Appearances include the annual Yuletide Revels in December, a 36 year tradition drawing large audiences from Northeast Ohio. The Revels capture the spirit of a Yuletide celebration during the Elizabethan age and are performed in a theatrical setting including lavish period costumes. In the spring, the Madrigal Singers tour in different parts of the country. Most recently New York City, Boston, Chicago and Detroit have provided venues for the group. Spring semester music includes every style from early Renaissance madrigals to vocal jazz arrangements, some written especially for the group.
