José Gotera is an adjunct professor of voice at Hiram
College. In addition to teaching voice he directs the Hiram Men’s
Chorus and the Opera and Musical Theater workshop. José completed
his graduate studies at Case Western Reserve University with a
Master’s degree in Early Music Performance Practices. He has
performed with Toronto’s Tafelmusik and as a soloist with Apollo’s
Fire. José has also performed solo roles with Cleveland Opera on
Tour, Opera Circle and sings regularly with the Chorus of Opera
Cleveland. Last year José was a featured soloist with the West Shore
Chorale under the direction of John Drotleff. José is currently the
baritone soloist at Trinity Cathedral and he continues to take voice
lessons with Noriko Fujii at the Cleveland Institute of Music.
